GoldMine Licensing explained.

There is sometimes some confusion regarding the way the licensing works with Docked and Un-Docked users.  The best analogy to describe this is to imagine a car park with ten spaces, this would be a GoldMine 10 user license.  It is a first come first served (concurrent) system, once the ten spaces are filled then no one else can park until some else leaves.

But when a license is un-docked (to be used on a Laptop that will go 'off-site') it is like reserving one of those parking spaces.  Now only nine people can park at any time but one person (the un-docked user) can always find a parking space at any time as it is reserved.  This means that they can use their copy of GoldMine anytime regardless of how many people are logged into the main GoldMine site.
